FOR 7th Grade Students:
2010-2011 Hughes Band
Things to remember as 7th grade students
prepare to pick electives for next year:
1. Students can be in band, athletics, and cheerleading. 90% of our 7th/8th grade band students are in athletics which includes football, volleyball, basketball, and track.
2. All 7th and 8th grade students will perform in Pep Rallies and at the elementary schools. Cheerleaders who are also in band will be able to cheer in all Pep Rallies without penalty.
3. There are three bands for 2nd and 3rd year students: Honors (A), Symphonic (B), and Concert (C). Students will be placed in bands according to playing ability, behavior in class, academic eligibility, work ethic, and overall maturity level. The main criteria for placement will be scales.
How to Access Charms
Start with www.charmsoffice.com
Go to the Parent/Student Login
Enter HughesMSBand
OR
Go to www.burlesonband.org/hughes and click on the charms link
THEN
Enter your child’s student ID number. This number is listed on Skyward and is also the number they use in the school cafeteria and library. It’s also on their report card. If you cannot find it let me know and I will look it up for you.Helpful Charms Tips
Want to be on the Hughes Band e-Mailing List? Log in to Charms and make sure we have your correct e-mail address. If not, please update the address while logged in.
Having trouble entering Charms? Make sure you are using your student's "lunch" ID number. If it is only four digits, add a zero (0) to the front (i.e. enter "01234" and not "1234").
Still having trouble entering Charms? Try this fix for Internet Explorer: Tools>Internet Options>Content (Tab). If the content advisor says, "Disable" - click it to disable. Click "Apply" to save the setting. You may have to re-open your browser for the settings to take effect. If you are still having difficulties, contact Mr. Johnson by e-mail.
